The aim of the project is a comparison of the performance parameters and the investigation of the fracture
mechanisms of the standard equipment used for the decontamination of impurities, corners and edges. An innovative, semi-automated demonstrator for dry-mechanical decontamination of corners, edges and impurities for nuclear facilities will be based on said findings.
Development of such demonstrator comprises:
- Improvement of work safety
- Reduction of any dust load due to a tool housing with integrated extraction;
- lower vibrations and load on the musculoskeletal system: by mans of negative pressure, the device is fixed to the point to be processed and the movement is assisted by a drive.
- less time required and secondary waste reduced by the removal of contaminated impurities with millimetre accuracy and the creation of a surface roughness suitable for free measurement.
The aim of the partial project is the development and construction of a flexible test stand including the execution and evaluation of experimental test series. The partial project also aims at the scientific investigation of experimentally collected performance parameters, such as feed rate, removal depth per operation, surface roughness and removal rate from in order to identify the relevant influencing parameters of the developed demonstrator. Based on these results, the prototype and the extraction with flexible housing are developed by the cooperation partners.
