The Chair of Facility Management at the Institute for Technology and Management in Construction (TMB) was founded in 2000 as Germany's first university professorship in its field. Since then the professorship has been active in research and teaching.

Since our founding in 2000, we've been taking steps toward something new: the establishment of the first professorship for Facility Management in Germany. We've remained true to this mindset, continually driving forward new research topics, such as digitalization in Facility Management, even today.
Contact with our colleagues is important to us. That's why we redesigned our office spaces in 2018 to encourage more interaction among ourselves. Since then, we've had access to the 'Thought Room,' equipped with a projector, a writable wall, and a flipchart for regular meetings. Additionally, the meeting table inside can be transformed into a table tennis setup during lunch breaks to ensure that team fun is also a priority.
