Motivation
Since 2009, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has taken the first steps towards implementing a holistic, life cycle-oriented real estate and facility management system. One of the main areas of focus is the optimisation of future reserves to preserve the substance of DLR's own real estate portfolio, which comprises more than 300 buildings with a wide variety of uses. DLR's available space totals a total of approximately 370,000 m² of net floor space spread over 13 different locations in Germany.
Goal
As part of the joint project, the Chair of Facility Management will further develop the PABI module (practice-oriented, adaptive budgeting of maintenance measures) published in 2008 on the basis of comprehensive real data analyses for budget formation for office, workshop and laboratory buildings and explicitly adapt it to the needs of DLR.
